"BOSQUE HONFRÍA"
COUNTRY GUEST-HOUSE IN LINARES DE RIOFRÍO, SALAMANCA

Linares, panoramic view (photo of José Ángel Martín)

As we have previously said, this is where the Sierra de Francia begins and use as a starting point to visit local beauty spots and picturesque tows in the area. We will point these out to you on your arrival.

There are so many beauty spots only a twenty minute drive from here like Guijuelo, where the famous Iberian cured-hams are elaborated, although they can be bought here in Linares. On the same route and just eight kilometres from Linares you have Monleón a small walled town with its castle.

The Sierra de Béjar is very near Guijuelo and other villages like Candelario and the La Covatilla ski resort for winter sports lovers. An hour's drive in the other direction you have Ciudad Rodrigo, a medieval town worth visiting.

And, of course, Linares de Riofrío, a quiet place but lively during holiday periods. It has all the basic services: grocery shops, bars, restaurants, discotheques, hairdressers, banks, Guardia Civil police station, petrol station, news agent's and such like. It still maintains its old quarters, like the Jewish Quarter (15th Century) and the Romanic Church (12th Century), two images of The Virgin (15th and 16th Centuries) and the main altarpiece which is worth viewing. All this and the local people will make you feel that...
